Hi guys,
Shannon here (Bob's oldest daughter). Just a quick note to let those of you that haven't seem me in recent years know who I am and a little about our family. I was married in 1976 to Bill Chappell. We had three boys, Jason, Robert, and Russell. Many of you know that Bill passed away when the boys were very young (1984) of cancer.
It was just the 4 of us for about 10 years. I remarried in April 1994 to Wesley Hagerty. We still live in the same house that Bill and I bought in 1983 here in Hawthorne. We are just 5 blocks from mom and dad.
Jason is now 28 (today, in fact!) and lives with Mom and Dad when he is not at his girlfriend's. Jason is currently not working due to an injury to his hand. We hope he will be back at work soon.
Robbie is 26 and is getting married in August to a beautiful and sweet girl, Brie. He lives in Manhattan Beach. He helps his ex-girlfriend's father run his construction business and hope to take it over one day.
Russell is 24 and the only one still living at home. He spends much more time with his girlfriend than he does here though. Russell has worked in many construction jobs including working for Robbie, a roofing company, refinishing floors, and as an electrical helper. He would like to get into an electrical apprentice program.
My husband, Wesley, works helping a friend run a very small team sporting goods store here in Hawthorne. He does the machine embroidery and silk screening for the business.
I work for the Hawthorne School District as well as have a business of my own. My position for the School District is Business Technology Specialist. I am the system administrator of the business and financial systems which
includes the responsibility of keeping three servers in good working order, training on the business software systems, and maintaining three databases. I like my job because it combines my knowledge of accounting (I finally got a Bachelor's Degree in accounting in 2004) and my love of computers.
On the side I have a tax and accounting business that includes being a consultant certified to teach QuickBooks. I would like to increase my business enough that I can retire from the school district at 55 and have enough income to stay comfortable.
